SUMMARY:Financial Literacy Bootcamp for K-12 Educators
DESCRIPTION:The Kansas Council for Economic Education\, in partnership with the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and the Centers for Economic Education at Fort Hays State University and Wichita State University are pleased to present this engaging workshop for educators. \n\n\n\nOver the course of the three days\, educators will hear from industry experts on topics related to personal finance and be presented with free lessons from the Council for Economic Education\, the Federal Reserve Education Department and more all designed to assist you in teaching a financial literacy course that will meet KSDE standards for the new Kansas high school graduation requirements. \n\n\n\nThese workshops offer: \n\n\n\n\nGraduate Credit from Fort Hays State or Wichita State for those who qualify\n\n\n\nA limited number of rooms in the the Dane G. Hansen Scholarship Hall will be available on a first come\, first served basis\n\n\n\nMeals (breakfast/lunch) and snacks\n\n\n\nHands-on\, standards-based lesson plans and supplemental materials\n\n\n\nAt the completion of the workshop\, teachers will receive a pacing guide and course outline for a one-semester financial literacy course\n\n\n\n\nAll at NO COST to you! \n\n\n\nThere is no fee for educators to participate in the workshop \n\n\n\nGraduate credit is available from WSU and FHSU with scholarships for the full price of tuition available for those who qualify on a first-come\, first-served basis. These are available for certified Kansas teachers who are or will be teaching a personal finance course or related course. \n\n\n\nApply online for the workshop and tuition scholarship. Scholarship confirmations and additional workshop information will be sent via e-mail.
